Part 2: Imperative Information and Context for 2024 Selectman Race

This video is comprised of imperative information and relevant context needed to share with voters so that they have as much information as possible to make their decision on Monday, April 8, 2024. Thank you for your consideration and thank you for listening.

This is the video I had produced when I first ran for office. We accomplished a significant amount of headway in the five years I was in office. My values and vision are still consistent with this video. I hope it helps the voters get to know me better. Thank you.

  • Let Them

Now that I have come up for air, I’ve had time to reflect on yesterday’s election. There is a lesson learned in all that we do, and all that happens in life. There is also always a silver lining; you just have to look hard enough to see it sometimes. But first I will say:…

  • Resignation Speech, April 14, 2021

If it’s ok with my colleagues, I would like to make a statement before we reorganize. I first want to congratulate Mr. Smith on running a strong campaign. Welcome to the board. I have always believed that everyone deserves a chance to lead and a chance to give back to their community. That being said,…

  • SOBBP 501c3 Revocation Conflict

Important information for the voters. As you might already know, Holly’s opponent was the founder and original President of SOBBP. Not only have they not filed properly, they are also campaigning politically (which is illegal for any nonprofit per the IRS). The following is very concerning: SOBBP 501c3 Revocation Conflict Save Our Bay Brayton Point…

  • Taxes

Did you know…every year, when taxes are assessed, the goal is to level-fund all budgets. When there are large projects on the horizon, or large closures (i.e. closure of power plants, new middle school construction, etc.) the selectmen should have a solid vision and are responsible for planning and preparing for stabilizing the tax base.…

  • Scrap Metal and Prysmian at Brayton Point

A few questions, answers, and a few statements: Did you know that the scrap metal operation was not permanent to begin with? Did you know that it was only a last-ditch effort for Brayton Point LLC to break even due to the delay of any wind projects across the nation (completely out of the town’s…

  • The Somerset Sentinel — Candidate Statement Article by George Austin

From Holly: “Thank you, George Austin and The Sentinel, for this feature article! Equally as important is to complete the Prysmian permitting process so that they can overcome the hurdles and state appeals imposed by my opponent’s special interest groups. These appeals have delayed the project significantly and have delated all major tax revenue to…

  • Somerset lost out on waterfront restaurant/brewery project…

A message from Holly: “Did you know… Somerset lost out on a waterfront restaurant/brewery project In 2017, our board started lengthy discussions with each other and with the community about the need for a full-time town planner. We were applying for more grants, and acutally missing opportunities to apply because we didn’t have a planner.…

A note from Holly: “My opponent doesn’t like the facts and information I am providing because the information clearly shows his weaknesses. When you don’t like the facts, it doesn’t change the facts or the reality. My opponent is taking credit for the 56 small businesses below that have opened in town over the past…
